Strategic has recently expanded its wholly-owned Midas Touch project to cover over 1,200 sq km of prospective stratigraphy for Carlin-type gold mineralization to the south of ATAC Resources' new Osiris discovery. The Midas Touch project now hosts four areas of orpiment-realgar mineralization, arsenic sulphide minerals that are often associated with Carlin-style gold deposits and are key indicator minerals at ATAC's Osiris discovery. At the Crag property, recent drilling by Strategic has confirmed that the hydrothermal system is gold-bearing and large in extent. The pathfinder element signature is consistent with the upper portions of a Carlin system,and requires further drilling to depth. The three other areas of orpiment-realgar mineralization are new discoveries located through follow-up prospecting of regional pathfinder +/- gold geochemical anomalies. At the Crag East property, situated 14 km to the southwest of the ATAC discoveries, scout drilling intersected strong orpiment/realgar within favourable carbonate rocks and exceptionally high pathfinder elements over broad intervals. Two large (3.3 and 1.5 sq km) arsenic±antimony±mercury±thallium±gold soil geochemical anomalies (with values to 2.41 g/t gold) have been outlined, both of which are open-ended. Full soil geochemical results were not received until after the completion of drilling and the strongest parts of these extensive geochemical anomalies remain to be tested.
