Magmatic Prospects
This category of mineral deposits is somewhat unusual because the mineralization is hosted by intrusive rocks and is thought to have sourced from the parent magma without significant interactions with wallrocks.
Strategic has interests in three prospects that contain quite different commodities but which are all lumped under the magmatic category.
Burwash - features nickel, copper, gold and platinum group elements in sulphide minerals that occur as massive lenses and disseminations within large mafic to ultramafic sills. This property is located adjacent to the former Wellgreen mine of Northern Platinum Limited. The Burwash property is under option to Pacific Coast Nickel Corp.
REE - is a rare earth prospect associated with a syenite pluton. It is subject to an optional sales agreement with Yankee Hat Minerals Ltd. Assuming earn-in is completed, Strategic will retain a royalty interest.
Mac -- covers an extensive system of granitic dykes that contain abundant spodumene (an ore mineral of lithium) and significant concentrations of tantalum- and niobium-bearing columbite. Strategic has a 2% NSR in the Mac property which is owned by War Eagle Mining Company Inc.
