Skarn Prospects

Strategic holds interests in a number of properties where mineralization is hosted in skarn and/or hornfels, which are forms of alteration caused by contact metamorphism. Skarn and hornfels are usually found in sedimentary or volcanic wallrocks adjacent to high level granitic intrusions.

Mineral assemblages associated with the skarns and hornfels are highly variable and include: copper±gold, tungsten±gold, and zinc±lead±silver±copper±gold.

Skarn mineralization can form massive bodies or occur as disseminations and veinlets. Mineralization in hornfels is usually hosted in stockwork fractures. Both are sometimes genetically and spatially linked to porphyry systems.

Many of Strategic's skarn and hornfels prospects have produced encouraging drill results and several will receive additional work in 2010.
